Neymar Becomes Part Of Yu-Gi-Oh! Universe In New Collaboration

Brazilian soccer star Neymar has officially entered the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! through a newly announced collaboration revealed by KONAMI during its stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2025 on September 25.

Following the event, KONAMI revealed the collaboration on its official X account, stating that the crossover celebrates the 30th anniversary of the eFootball series and offers fans a chance to experience a unique world where star soccer players and Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters come together.

The announcement came with a teaser video in which Neymar fused with the iconic Dark Magician. The video also showcased trading cards featuring other soccer players, including Kylian Mbappe, Warren Zaire-Emery and Jules Kounde. Neymar’s special fusion was later unveiled as an official Yu-Gi-Oh! card at the end of the video.

To mark the crossover, KONAMI launched a campaign on X where fans stand a chance to win a Neymar x Black Magician card personally signed by the player.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise began in 1996 with Kazuki Takahashi’s manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. Since then, it has grown into a global multimedia property spanning anime adaptations, films, video games, and the internationally popular Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, which KONAMI first released in 1999.
