New Fate/strange Fake Special Anime Announced For December 2022

The teaser video features the song "Belong" by Hiroyuki Sawano.

Aniplex Online Fest 2022 revealed on Sep 24, 2022 that a new Fate project titled ‘Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn‘ will release on Dec 31, 2022.

It is termed a special TV anime project, with A-1 Pictures in charge of the animation. A new teaser video and key visual were also released for Fate/strange Fake to commemorate the announcement.

The teaser video features the song “Belong” by Hiroyuki Sawano.

The staff working on the anime include:

Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn will be getting a same day English dub release. Both Japanese and English version cast for the anime were announced on the official website.

The official website describes the plot of the anime as follows:

The “Holy Grail War” is a battle between the “Master” and the “Servant” over the “Holy Grail,” a wishing machine that grants wishes of all kinds.

It has been several years since the end of the Fifth Holy Grail War that took place in Japan. A sign of a new Holy Grail was observed in Snowfield, a city in the western part of the United States. The Masters and Servants gather to fight for the Holy Grail.

A missing class.
Servants who were never meant to be chosen.
A nation in the dark.
A city built for war.
–The “Holy Grail War” becomes confused and twisted due to numerous irregularities.

The curtain opens on a feast of humans and Servants dancing on the altar of the false Holy Grail.

Fate/strange Fake is a Japanese light novel series in Type-Moon’s Fate franchise, written by Ryōgo Narita and illustrated by Morii Shizuki. It was published by Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint, with 7 volumes released as of March 2022.

A light novels also received a manga adaptation.
