The official Twitter account of Netflix Japan announced on Feb 7, 2023, that the new Kimi Ni Todoke live-action series will release worldwide on the Netflix streaming platform from March 30, 2023.
A new key visual featuring Sawako Kuronuma and Shota Kazehaya was unveiled to commemorate the announcement.

Additional cast members have also been revealed along with the announcement. They are as follows:
- Kaito Sakurai as Ryu Sanada
- Rinka Kumada as Ayane Yano
- Riho Nakamura as Chizuru Yoshida
- Naho Toda as Yoko Kuronuma
- Hiroyuki Hirayama as Kitao Kuronuma
- Shohei Miura as Kazuichi Arai
It was previously revealed that Sara Minami will play the role of the protagonist Sawako Kuronuma and Ouji Suzuka will play her love interest Shota Kazehaya.
Netflix has teamed up with TV Tokyo to produce the new live-action series. Takehiko Shinjo along with Takeo Kikuchi will serve as the directors, with Hayato Miyamoto writing the script.
Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Karuho Shiina. It was published by Shueisha in Bessatsu Margaret from 2005 to 2017 and collected in 30 tankobon volumes. It won the Best Shojo Manga award in the 32nd Annual Kodansha Manga Award In 2008. The series was also nominated for the first Manga Taisho awards in 2008.
An anime adaptation of Kimi ni Todoke, produced by Production I.G, aired from October 2009. The second season of the anime began airing in Japan on Jan 4, 2011.
A live action film adaptation was released in 2010 starring Mikako Tabe and Haruma Miura.
