Netflix And Shonen Jump Collaboration

Netflix Japan has released a promotional video highlighting its collaboration with Weekly Shonen Jump, titled the “Dream Tag Campaign.”

The promotional video includes a statement encouraging fans to “dream together with friends, Jump anime, and Netflix.”

A translation of the narration describes how the campaign celebrates the themes of aspiration, friendship, and perseverance that define Shonen Jump’s works.

The video ends with a message emphasizing that Netflix is the home for iconic Shonen Jump adaptations, calling it a dream tag between the two entertainment giants.

The campaign promotes a joint subscription plan between the two companies, showcasing existing anime adaptations from the iconic manga magazine alongside potential hints at new projects.

The promotional video features a montage of popular Shonen Jump anime titles available on Netflix, including One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia. Newer works like Blue Box and Sakamoto Days were also a part of it.

However, fans have noticed something intriguing—brief appearances of Kagurabachi and Akane Banashi in the video.

Kagurabachi reportedly has its anime adaptation in works at CygamesPictures. An anime adaptation for Akane Banashi is yet to be announced.

While no official confirmation was provided in the video or accompanying tweet, their appearance has led to a buzz that Netflix could be planning to acquire their streaming rights, which in a way confirms that they will indeed be getting an anime adaptation.

Both series have gained significant popularity in Weekly Shonen Jump, with Kagurabachi making waves as one of the magazine’s breakout hits. It has won multiple accolades, including the Next Manga Award, and has also been nominated for the 70th Shogakukan manga award.

Akane Banashi on the other hand is praised for its unique storytelling about rakugo, the art of Japanese comedic storytelling.

The inclusion of Kagurabachi and Akane Banashi in the PV could also be a strategic move to gauge fan interest.

The collaboration between these two entertainment powerhouses continues to expand, bringing some of Shonen Jump’s most beloved stories to screens worldwide.
