My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Season 3 Will Start Airing From July 2020

The official website for My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru, abbreviated as Oregairu) announced that the third and final season of the anime will start airing from July 2020. 

“The broadcast was postponed due to the influence of the new coronavirus, ‘My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected’ is now decided to broadcast in July 2020,” the translated message on the official website of the anime read. “For broadcasting from July, we are proceeding with the production by trial and error with safety first.”

The show will be broadcast on TBS, MBS, CBC, BS-TBS in July. Furthermore, Amazon Prime will be given streaming rights for the video in Japan. Outside Asia, Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime for release and it will be streamed on HIDIVE. 

The third season, called My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax was set to air in the Spring 2020 anime slot, but was delayed due to the concerns regarding COVID-19 in Japan. As a placeholder for the anime Season 2 of Oregairu was being broadcast in its place. 

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU follows Hachiman Hikigaya, a pessimistic, closeminded, and realistic teen, who is forced by his teacher to join the school’s service club and work with two girls with issues of their own. They offer help and advice to others while dealing with their inner conflicts.

Kei Oikawa is returning from the second season to direct the series while Takuya Egichi, Saori Hayami and Nao Toyoma reprise their roles as Hachiman Hikigiya, Yukino Yukinoshita and Yui Yuigahama. Ayane Sakura will be returning from the second season to voice Iroha Isshiki.

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU is based on the light novels written by Wataru Watari, which began publishing in 2011 in Japan. The final volume of the novel was shipped on November 19.
