My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission Receives 4D Screenings From August 28

Theatergoers will receive a new mini artboard as a bonus gift from August 28, limited to only 300,000 copies.

The official site of My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission announced on August 18 that the movie will get an MX4D and 4DX screening in Japan from August 28, Saturday. The movie name is “4D WORLD SMASH”, and a promo video is also now available.

The official website explains that the 4D experience will allow the audience to feel the powerful action and exciting battles full of interesting quirks between the heroes and villains.

Furthermore, the 38th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday, theatergoers will receive a new mini artboard as a bonus gift. Original manga creator Kōhei Horikoshi drew the art on the artboard, limited to only 300,000 copies starting distribution on August 28.

Previously, Theatergoers received a “Vol. World Heroes” bonus manga volume for the movie. The manga volume was limited to only one million copies.

My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission, the third feature film in the My Hero Academia anime franchise is based on Kohei Horikoshi’s sci-fi action shonen manga, released in 320 theaters across Japan on August 6, 2021.

Over the first four days of release, which was a long weekend in Japan thanks to Mountain Day being moved for the Tokyo Olympics Closing Ceremony, World Heroes Mission made more than 940 million yen (US$8.52 million) on 720,000 tickets sold. Heroes: Rising, over its entire box office run, made 1.79 billion yen (US$15.1 million), less than double what World Heroes Mission made in one weekend.
