Encore Films announced on Feb 13, 2025, that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- anime film will be released in Indian theaters on Feb 28, 2025.
The film is a re-edited version of the first four episodes from the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX series.
The film, which was released in Japan on Jan 17, made a strong debut, opening at #1 at the box office during its first weekend.
It sold 352,500 tickets and earned 599 million yen in its first three days.
GKIDS has secured the North American theatrical distribution rights for the film, and will release it in the theaters there on Feb 28, 2025.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX series is co-produced by Studio Khara, famed for the Evangelion series, and Sunrise, the studio behind the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.
Kazuya Tsurumaki, who served as an assistant director under Hideaki Anno for Evangelion, is directing the anime.
Yoji Enokido (Sailor Moon, Neon Genesis Evangelion) will handle series composition, co-writing the screenplay with Anno. Mechanical designs will be handled by Ikuto Yamashita.

The story of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX revolves around illegal Mobile Suit dueling competitions known as “Clan Battles.” High school girl Amate Yuzuriha, who lives peacefully in a space colony, encounters Nyann, a girl who is a war refugee.
This meeting leads her to pilot the GQuuuuuuX and immerse herself in the world of “Clan Battles.” The mysterious Mobile Suit Gundam and its pilot, a boy named Shuji, have also been revealed as key elements of the story.
