The official website of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX has announced that the anime series will premiere on April 8 and air every Tuesday at 24:29 JST.
Alongside the release date, it was also revealed that the anime’s theme song will be Plazma by Japanese singer Kenshi Yonezu.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX series is co-produced by Studio Khara, famed for the Evangelion series, and Sunrise, the studio behind the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.
Kazuya Tsurumaki, who served as an assistant director under Hideaki Anno for Evangelion, is directing the anime.
Yoji Enokido (Sailor Moon, Neon Genesis Evangelion) will handle series composition, co-writing the screenplay with Anno. Mechanical designs will be handled by Ikuto Yamashita.

Ahead of the TV broadcast, a theatrical version titled Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- was released in Japan on Jan 17, 2025, and made a strong debut, opening at #1 at the box office during its first weekend.
It sold 352,500 tickets and earned 599 million yen in its first three days.
The film is a re-edited version of the first four episodes of the upcoming series.
It surpassed 2.5 billion yen at the box office within a month, making it the second highest-grossing theatrical release in the Gundam franchise.
GKIDS has secured the North American theatrical distribution rights for the film, and will release it in the theaters there on Feb 28, 2025.
Encore Films will be releasing the film in India on the same day as its U.S. premiere.
The story of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX revolves around illegal Mobile Suit dueling competitions known as “Clan Battles.” High school girl Amate Yuzuriha, who lives peacefully in a space colony, encounters Nyann, a girl who is a war refugee.
This meeting leads her to pilot the GQuuuuuuX and immerse herself in the world of “Clan Battles.” The mysterious Mobile Suit Gundam and its pilot, a boy named Shuji, have also been revealed as key elements of the story.
