Manga Is Popular In Europe Says A Fortune 500 Company’s President

NTT Corp. is the 4th largest telecom company in the world in terms of revenue.

The president of Japan based Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. the 55th company in the Fortune 500 list recently announced the expansion of NTT owned Comic C’moA, globally in a news conference. During the news conference, the NTT Corp. President Masaaki Moribayashi said, “Japanese comics are also extremely popular in Europe I think (overseas expansion) looks promising in a considerably large area, which covers Europe and Asia.

He further added that the company has no concrete plan as of now albeit it wants to start procedures for contracts and other business matters by the end of March next year.

Additionally, Moribayashi says, “We want to make a second and third Solmares.” (referring to the subsidiary NTT Solmare the parent company of Comic C’moA) and to increase the sales ratio of new businesses to 50% by March 2026.

NTT Corp. is the 4th largest telecom company in the world in terms of revenue. They are also the third largest publicly traded company in Japan after Sony and Toyota.

It was founded in 1952 to take over AT&T during the “occupied Japan” time period after world war 2. Later in 1985 it was privatized and in 1987 it made the largest stock offering to date at USD $36.8 billion.

In 2011 the company’s network capacity was increased to 500Gbit/second.
