A new PV of Mamoru Hosoda’s upcoming movie “Belle(Ryu to Soba Kasumi no Hime)” has released today. The new movie will premier in theatres on July 16th 2021.

Additionally, the details of the staff members was also in the announcement. The character design for the Dragon in the movie will be handled by Kageichi Akiya.
Futhermore, chief animation director Takaaki Yamashita (Bakemono no Ko) took care of the virtual world of “U” while Hiroyuki Aoyama (Summer Wars) who is also the animation director has created the designs for the characters in the “real world” of the movie. Nobutaka Ike (Paprika) will be the background art director, Anri Jojo (Summer Wars’ “Oz” world art design) for art setting, and artists Ryo Horibe and Yohei Shimozawa will be the CGI directors.
Most of the cast for “The Dragon and the Freckled Princess” has been revealed.

Jin Kim has designed the titular protagonist Belle. Mamoru Hosoda is directing and scripting the film, and has also been credited for the original work. This film will mark Studio Chizu’s 10th anniversary.
As a summary of the upcoming film, “Ryu to Soba Kasumi no Hime” depicts a 17-year-old high school girl, Suzu, who lives with her father in a depopulated rural town of Kochi, one day encounters the huge Internet world. Tin, who lost his mother in an accident when he was young and had a big wound in her heart, enters the huge Internet world called “U” and joins with an avatar name Belle. As she continues to showcase her own music in the virtual world, she fast becomes the rising star of “U.”
