Made In Abyss Season 2, titled Made In Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, is listed with 12 episodes in its Blu-Ray and DVD Box information section on the official website.

The second season of the anime will be getting two Blu-Ray and DVD Box Sets. The first BOX set will be released on Oct 26, 2022 and will consist of episodes 1-6 from season 2. The second BOX set will be released on Dec 23, 2022, and will consist of episodes 7-12 of the second season.

Both BOX sets will have a special booklet titled, “Abyss Exploration Records – Vol. 1” which is a detailed 40-page commentary and setting material of each episode of season two. Along with the booklets, fans who purchase BOX sets with also receive storyboards by director Masayuki Kojima, a end card portrait and an event ticket priority sales application.

As a special bonus, credit-less OP, ED, PV, commercials and other promotional materials of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of Scorching Sun will be available to buyers. Audio commentary of cast and staff is also included in the BOX sets.

The second BOX set will also have a limited edition version, in which a Mitty plushie will be available along with the other bonus items.

Both BOX sets will be illustrated by original author Akihito Tsukushi and the digipack will contain illustrations by character designer Yuka Kuroda.

Made in Abyss Season 2 is set to air in Japan from July 6, 2022. The series will air on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, and Saga TV.

Kinema Citrus will be in charge of animating the second season, with Masayuki Kojima returning to direct the series.

Yuka Kuroda and Teru Sekiguchi are new additions to the staff this term. They will be serving as character designer and art director respectively.

The Made in Abyss manga is made by Akihito Tsukushi and was published under Bamboo Comics label. It began serializing in 2012.

The manga received an anime adaptation in 2017. It was followed by two compilation movies Made In Abyss: Journey’s Dawn and Made In Abyss: Wandering Twilight, which were released in January 2019, and a sequel movie, titled Made In Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, which released in Japan on January 2020.
