Tomohito Oda’s Komi Can’t Communicate concluded its 8-year, 8-month journey with the release of Chapter 499 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday’s 9th issue on Jan 29, 2025.
The final chapter, titled People Change, took the centre stage in the latest issue, featuring Komi on the cover and lead color pages.
Commemorative Releases and Final Volume:
To celebrate the series’ completion, Shogakukan has announced the release of a reproduction of this issue’s cover illustration. The special item will include a digital signature from the author and a serial number, and will be sold as a limited-edition item.
Pre-orders are available via Sunday Premium SHOP until March 2.
Additionally, the manga’s 37th and final volume, set for release on March 18, will include exclusive episodes not found in the original serialization.
A special commemorative PV has also been announced, with updates to be shared on the series’ official X account.

An eight-episode live-action television drama adaptation was broadcast from September to November 2021, while an anime television series adaptation produced by OLM aired from October to December of the same year; a second season aired from April to June 2022.
