‘Kaguya Sama’ & ‘Oshi No Ko’ Manga Get Novel Adaptations; Release Date, Titles & Plot Details Revealed!

It has been revealed that Aka Akasaka’s manga Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Oshi No Ko will be getting adapted to novels featuring original storylines.

Both the novels will be published by Shueisha on Nov 17, 2023.

Given below are all the details for the upcoming novels:

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War novel:

Titled Tensaitachi no Renai Jinrosen, which literally translates to The Geniuses’ Love Werewolf War, will be written by Juichiro Hitsujiyama.

Shueisha describes the plot of the novel as:

The highly popular intellectual battle romantic comedy, after concluding a year ago, miraculously returns in novel form!

The story takes place before the final showdown with the Shinomiya family, after Kaguya and Shirogane have started dating. The setting is a solitary island owned by the Fujiwara family.

In addition to the student council members, the game that unfolds also involves Moeha Fujiwara and Kei Shirogane, revolving around a treasure that can “grant wishes,” much like a game of werewolves.

Amidst the intertwining motives of each character, who will emerge victorious? A completely original story that can only be experienced through the novel!

Oshi No Ko novel:

The novel adaptation of Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s Oshi no Ko manga is titled Ichiban Hoshi no Spica (Spica The First Evening Star).

It is written by Hajime Tanaka.

Sheuisha describes the plot of the novel as:

After joining B-Komachi for some time, one day, Ai confided in the office president, Ikko Saito. Behind the seemingly smooth activities of B-Komachi, there was an issue of discord between Ai, who serves as the center, and the other members. Additionally, this special novel edition includes an untold story of the meeting and parting of Sarina and Goro before they were reincarnated as Aqua and Ruby!

Furthermore, it contains a luxurious addition, the “Original Novel ‘Perspective B'” written by the original author, Aka Akasaka, which was distributed as a special bonus to attendees of the pre-screening of the first episode of the anime.

Aka Akasaka began serializing Kaguya-sama: Love Is War was in Shueisha’s Miracle Jump between May 2015 and January 2016. It was then transferred to Weekly Young Jump starting from March 2016.

Starting from April 2020, his work Oshi no Ko, which is illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, started serializing in Weekly Young Jump and is his second active series on the magazine at the same time. In August 2021, Oshi no Ko won the Next Manga Award in the print category.
