Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine’s issue #48, released on Oct 27, 2022, revealed that Aka Akasaka’s romantic comedy manga Kaguya Sama: Love Is War is coming to an end with the upcoming chapter after seven years of serialization.
The final chapter will be released in the magazine’s issue #49 releasing on Nov 2, 2022.
The preview page of the 48th issue reads, “I want to see their love story through…. A long romantic comedy that has been serialized for 7 years… is now complete!“
Moreover, the 49th issue will contain a special 12 page booklet, and conversation between the mangaka and cosplayer Enako. The series will also be featured on the cover page of the magazine to commemorate the ending of Kaguya Sama manga.
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War began serialization in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Miracle Jump in May 2015 and was transferred to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016. In North America, the manga is licensed in English by Viz Media.
As of Oct 19, 2022, twenty-seven volumes have been released.
An anime television series adaptation by A-1 Pictures aired in Japan from January to March 2019. A second season aired from April to June 2020. An OVA episode was released in 2021, and a third season aired from April to June 2022.
The franchise is also set to get its first anime film, titled Kaguya sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai (Kaguya-sama: Love is War: The First Kiss Never Ends), which will hit the Japanese theatres in Winter 2022.
The anime also got its first ever special exhibition starting April 29, 2022, to celebrate the release of Season 3.
