Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed in its 28th issue on May 10, 2024, that Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen and Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia manga will be on a hiatus for two weeks.

Both the series are set to return in the 31st issue of the magazine, scheduled for release on July 1, 2024.

Gege Akutami provided an explanation for the hiatus through the author comment in the magazine.

Akutami mentioned that he is currently suffering from poor health and a strange condition, necessitating a break from his work. The specifics of his condition were not disclosed.

On the other hand, Shueisha did not provide a reason for the break for Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia.

The news comes on the heels of My Hero Academia entering its epilogue last week. However, the author clarified that the manga will continue for a little longer.

Kohei Horikoshi started serializing My Hero Academia in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014. Its chapters have been collected in 40 tankobon volumes as of April 2024.

Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018, with its chapters collected in 26 tankobon volumes as of April 2024.
