Sunghoo Park, the director of Jujutsu Kaisen anime, has announced that he will be producing a new anime based on an original story for Disney + platform, who will retain the exclusive rights to stream it.
The tentative title of the anime is Project Bullet/Bullet. Park had been working on the concept and story of the anime for over 10 years.
E & H production, which is Park’s own studio, and Studio GAGA will be in charge of animating the series.
A new key visual was also released to commemorate the announcement.
Staff, cast and additional details about the original anime will be released on a further date.
Park founded his production studio in 2021, leading to widespread rumors that he would be quitting from his role as director for the upcoming second season of Jujutsu Kaisen anime. He was in charge of directing season 1 of the anime and also the prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
He also directed the anime adaptation of South Korean webcomic, The God of High School.
This announcement comes as a part of Disney expanding its anime portfolio, following news of its collaboration with Kodansha studio. The platform will be streaming the anime adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s Phoenix manga, Tokyo Revengers Season 2 and others in 2023.
Disney had also revealed that the total viewing hours of Asian content on Disney + is eight times higher than a year ago.
