Jujutsu Kaisen 0 announced on Tuesday, Jan 4, 2022, that the movie has earned a Japanese box office revenue of 5,873,064,900 yen (US$51.01 million) in 11 days since its release. To celebrate the film’s “big hit”, Toho released a brand new poster of the film featuring Yuta Okkotsu.

The new poster features Okkotsu with the words “It’s rude- It’s pure love.”

Oricon reported, the pace of revenue of the movie exceeds that of Evangelion 3.0+1.0 which exceeded 4.9 billion yen in 14 days after its release.
In addition, Toho, predicted at the stage greeting on the first day of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 that it was certain that the revenue would exceed 10 billion yen and that “the final result will be unpredictable.”
The movie has surpassed a massive figure of 2.6 billion yen in the first 3 days of its release, making it the second-highest 3 day opening in Japanese box office history.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 toppled Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix‘s sales of 2.2 billion yen to that position. A total of 1.9 million people watched the movie. It was the second-biggest opening weekend Saturday and Sunday since 2015.
Additionally, with its 24-hours sales standing at 1.05 billion yen, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 also became the second highest grossing anime movie. It fell short of 2020’s Demon Slayer: Mugen Train‘s 1.2 billion yen sales.
The movie, however, exceeded the sales of August 2021 release, My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission of 320 million yen.
JJK 0 now also holds the title for the highest day 1 gross selling movie in 2021, despite being released against Hollywood titles like Matrix: The Resurrection and Spiderman: No Way Home.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie opened in Japan on Dec 24, 2021 and attracted an audience of 4,314,027 people.
