Oricon has recently announced the current worldwide box office collection of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. The movie has made around USD $180 million (24.25 Billion Yen), globally.
The movie made 13.75 billion Yen (~ USD $ 121.15 Million) in Japan, and the remaining 10.5 billion yen (USD $78 million) came from 80 different countries.
It was released in over 8000 theatres, selling over 9.9 million tickets. Although, 9.8 million tickets were sold in Japan alone.
The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is the 4th Highest earning anime movie in North America, overtaking Dragon Ball Super Broly, as reported by Crunchyroll.
This makes Jujutsu Kaisen 0 8th highest earning anime movie ever, globally, leaving behind Pokemon: The First Movie. Though it still trails Stand By Me Doraemon.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is based on Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, the prequel manga to the main series, Jujutsu Kaisen. It is written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. The manga was serialized in Shueisha’s magazine Jump GIGA from April to July 2017.
After Akutami launched Jujutsu Kaisen in 2018, the series was retroactively retitled Jujutsu Kaisen 0—making it a prequel—and released in a single tankōbon volume in December 2018.
