JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure creator Hirohiko Araki has revealed his admiration for pop star Sabrina Carpenter, confessing his obsession with the singer in a candid comment in the latest chapter of JOJOLands.
In the January 2025 edition of Ultra Jump, Araki openly shares his newfound love for the artist, admitting he’s a little late to the party.
“I know I’m a little late to the party, but I’m currently obsessed with Sabrina Carpenter. What an icon!”

This revelation has fans buzzing, as many see it as yet another instance of Araki’s musical influences making their way into the JoJo universe.
Given Araki’s history of naming Stands after musical artists fans are anticipating one inspired by Sabrina Carpenter’s work.
Araki’s references span across various genres, including rock, pop, classical, and more, often incorporating the names of iconic bands, songs, or musicians into the names of characters, Stands, and locations.
For instance Stands such as Killer Queen, D4C (Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap) and Stone Free, are nod to tracks by Queen, AC/DC and Jimi Hendrix. On the other hand, characters like Robert E.O. Speedwagon and Lisa Lisa pay homage to REO Speedwagon and Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam.
Hirohiko Araki is best known for his long-running series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, which began publication in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1987 and has over 120 million copies in circulation.
Recently, Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe had expressed his admiration for Billie Eilish, noting that he had a keen interest in collaborating with the pop sensation.
