JFF India announced on their official Instagram account that they will be conducting an on-ground festival across multiple cities in India after a gap of 3 years.
The festival is returning as Japan Film and Music Festival. A new clip too was released in the official account to commemorate the announcement.
According to them, this year’s event will bring alive the worlds of Radwimps and Makoto Shinkai.
The following movies of Shinkai will be screening at Japan Film and Music Festival:
- Weathering With You
- Your Name
- Garden of Words
- 5 centimeters per second
- The Children Who Chase Lost Voices
- The Place Promised In Our Early Days
In addition to the movies, two concerts of Radwimps, titled Radwimps “Your Name. Orchestra Concert” & Radwimps “Forever In The Daze Tour 2021-2022” will be screened at the festival.
Tickets for Japan Film and Music Festival will go on sale on Oct 19, 2022. The schedule for the festival is as follows:
- Delhi: Nov 4-6
- Mumbai: Nov 11-13
- Chennai: Nov 25-27
- Bengaluru: Dec 9-11
The Japan Film and Music festival is an initiative by the Japan Foundation, aiming to spread Japanese films overseas. The JFF was first held in 2016 in ASEAN countries and Australia, and expanded its area to China and India in 2017, and to Russia in 2018.
