In a recent YouTube livestream, IShowSpeed announced that he has received permission from a producer of One Piece‘s anime series to stream all episodes on his channel without facing copyright issues.
“I met the producer of one piece. Guess what she said? Guess what the producer of one piece said, y’all? She said she will let me stream all she will whitelist my channel for me to stream all the One Piece episodes on my channel.“
This privilege, if true, is particularly significant given the strict copyright policies typically enforced by anime production companies. The streamer also emphasized that no other content creator has been granted such permissions.
“So, chat, I will be able to watch One Piece episodes without getting copyrighted on my channel. And chat, nobody never gotten that, chat. Yo, chat, nobody has never gotten that. No YouTuber, streamer, Twitch or whatever, chat. Nobody has never gotten that.”
It is to be noted that no official confirmation from Toei Animation or the One Piece production team regarding this arrangement has been announced.
IShowSpeed has previously spoken about the personal impact of One Piece on his life.
During a recent stream with fellow streamer Kai Cenat, he revealed that watching One Piece helped him overcome depression during the quarantine period in 2020.
“You think about Luffy though he like, saved my life. I was depressed… They put ‘One Piece’ on Netflix, I gave it one episode. My whole life changed.“
