Critically acclaimed mangaka Inio Asano revealed on his official Twitter account on Jan 15, 2023, that his new manga will start serializing from March.
It will release in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine’s issue #7, which will be out on March 10, 2023.
The author added that he is drawing the first chapter (episode) of the manga and that he will give more updates when the release date is close. Asano’s tweet was accompanied by an art of the character from his new manga.
The illustration of this character had been revealed in the past too by the author.
The name of Inio Asano’s new manga has not been revealed yet.
Big Comic Superior had earlier stated that the manga will start serializing from 2022/2023 winter. However, at the time of the announcement, the author had claimed that he had not drawn a single page of the manga.
Inio Asano is a Japanese manga artist. His first serialized manga was What a Wonderful World!, which released in 2002. It was followed by Nijigahara Holograph.
Asano then went on to create the acclaimed manga Solanin, which also got adapted into feature film in Japan in April 2010, starring Aoi Miyazaki. He received worldwide recognition for his next series Goodnight Punpun.
His previous manga, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, ended on February 2022.
Known for creating character-driven, realist stories, ranging from slice of life to psychological horror, Asano won first prize in the 2001 GX competition for young manga artists. In 2010, Yomiuri Shimbun described Asano as “one of the voices of his generation.”
