Participation submission has started from Feb 26, 2022, till Aug 31, 2022.

The winner of the grand prize will receive a prize money of 3 million yen along with a chance to start a new serialization in Big Comic Superior and get a volume published.

The first and second runners-up will get a prize money of 1million yen and 50,000 yen respectively. The honorable mentions will also receive a prize money of 100,000 yen. All these works will get featured in the magazine after the declaration of the results in December 2022.

The announcement also released comments from the authors in regard to the manga award:

“The origin of the joy of creation is invention. Let me feel that there is still potential in manga with a novelty that is unconventional and has never been read by anyone.”

Inio Asano

“I don’t want to draw something like this, but I want to read something that oozes out of my body and mind.”

Shuzo Oshimi

“It’s strangely more impressive to have a work that makes you think that it’s just one frame, one page, or one frame, rather than a work that is full of enthusiasm. Please do whatever you like.”

Takayuki Yamaguchi
