Indian Embassy In Tokyo Screens Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama 4K Remaster Movie

The movie premiere marked the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between India and Japan.

The official Facebook page of Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama (Ramayana – Rama Ouji Densetsu) announced on Friday, Feb 11, 2022, that the Embassy of India in Tokyo, Japan hosted the premiere for 4K remastered version on Feb 4, 2022, in collaboration with TEM Co., Ltd.

The movie premiere marked the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between India and Japan.

Ambassador of India, H.E. Shri Sanjay Kumar Verma, and the film’s executive producer Atsushi Matsuo launched the film at the ceremony. Assistant producer Kenji Yoshii also gave a speech.

Previously, the official website of Ramayana anime, released a 4K trailer to commemorate the announcement of the remastered movie.

The film was co-produced by Japan and India. The film is going to be available in theatres, TV channels, DVD/Blu-ray, and/or OTT service from 2022.

The license holder of the film TEM Co., Ltd., based in Tokyo has established new social media handles for the film and is accepting requests for broadcast and streaming rights.

The anime film premiered in 1992, the 40th anniversary year of India-Japan diplomatic relations. Cartoon Network aired the film on Indian television in subsequent years.

Yugo Sako directed the film at Nippon Ramayana Film Co. and co-produced it alongside Krishna ShanVanraj Bhatia and Alan Howarth composed the music. Moriyasu Taniguchi designed the characters for the film. Satoshi Matsuoka was the art director and Kazuyuki Kobayashi was the animation director.
