Rui Takato, the author of ecchi manga Hagure Idol Jigokuhen (Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without A Fight!), tweeted from his official account on July 10, 2022 that he will be retiring from drawing manga.

According to Takato, he had been planning his retirement since last year as he had a family situation which made it impossible for him to draw a manga that is full of boobs and sex.

“I have been planning to do this since last year, because I have a family situation that will make it impossible for me to consistently draw a monthly manga that is full of boobs and sex for the time being,” Takato wrote on the micro-blogging platform.

というのはですね、家庭の事情で当分の間、おっぱいとかセックスとかばっか出てくる漫画を毎月コンスタントには描けない環境になるな、という状況がありまして（自分や家族のプライバシーに関わるので詳細は伏せます）、昨年から計画していました。

The author, however, refused to reveal any further details about the said circumstances in his family as it was matter of privacy for him and his family.

Takato also said that he had no problem with the content in his manga. Instead, he was proud that his “soft-core pornography and martial arts manga” sold well. But, the manga was not something he could show to his family.

“I am proud to say that Hagure Idol Jigokuhen has always sold well and is a good soft-core pornography and martial arts manga, but it’s not something I can show my family,” he wrote.

Saying that he is retiring from the job of being a manga artist, Takato added that he currently did not have the motivation to continue working on the manga unless the circumstances outside of his work change.

The author, who is also known for his Devilman Grimoire manga, added that if the work environment or his mood changes, he might continue drawing the chapters of Booty Royale.

Takato’s Hagure Idol Jigokuhen started serializing in Nihonbungeisha’s Bessatsu Manga Goraku magazine in February 2014. It moved to Nihonbungeisha’s Manga Goraku Special in March 2015 after the previous magazine’s publishing was stopped.

The manga entered its climax in July 2021, and shipped its 15th Volume on Aug 19, 2021.
