I Had To Drop Theme Song Multiple Times Trying To Compliment Anime Supremacy! Movie, Says Genie High Vocalist

He wanted to express the constant hardships of the people struggling to reach the top of the anime industry through his song.

The official website of Haken Anime! (Anime Supremacy!) the live-action film released its full trailer featuring the theme song “Éclair” performed by the rock band Genie High on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

In regard to the announcement, Enon Kawatani, songwriter and vocalist of the five-member rock band commented that he had to drop writing the theme song many times because it didn’t makeup to the spirit of the film.

“The movie was so interesting that I decided to make a song that wouldn’t lose to it, so I dropped it many times, ” said Kawatani.

The vocalist wanted to express the constant hardships of the people struggling to reach the top of the anime industry through his song.

“I feel like I’ve been thinking about “what is pop music” the most. Perhaps because of that hardship, I feel that the characters who struggle to take the hegemony in the animation industry have been able to embrace their emotions.”

Additionally, Marika Kouno, who plays popular idol voice actress Aoi Gunno in the film, joined the recording as a guest vocalist.

Furthermore, Yuki Kaji, Megumi Han, Rie Takahashi, and Kana Hanazawa, who played the main characters in the film’s two in-story anime episodes, offered shout-out voices.

The franchise also released a new key visual to commemorate the announcement with the tagline, “Bleed through your desires (a pun for manga artists when ink oozes out on the backside) “
