The rumours of One Piece Film Red releasing in India on Oct 7, 2022, had started spreading online recently. This stemmed from the film’s posters put out by some social media accounts containing the aforementioned release date.

In order to verify this information, Animehunch team reached out to PVR Pictures, the distributors of the movie, who claimed that the rumours are far from being true.

They also mentioned that One Piece Film Red is only confirmed to release in India on October 2022 and no exact date has been revealed as of now.

There was no confirmation from PVR Pictures at that time for the film releasing on Oct 7, 2022, and the poster uploaded by PVR Cinemas was termed to be a social media error.

However, it was later confirmed by PVR themselves on Aug 26, 2022, that the movie will release on Oct 7, 2022 in India.

Earlier, PVR cinemas placed standees across multiple theatres in Mumbai revealing that One Piece Film Red will release in India in October 2022.

Goro Taniguchi returns to the franchise for the first time since 1998 to direct One Piece Film: Red. Tsutomu Kuroiwa will be in charge of the screenplay. TOEI Animation is animating the film with original author Eiichiro Oda serving as executive producer.

The main cast from the previous movies will be reprising their roles in the movie.

The movie features and centers on the mysterious character Uta, who is teased to be Shanks daughter in the teaser.
