Here’s What Chainsaw Man Author Told The Staff About Approaching The Upcoming Anime Adaptation

Chainsaw Man anime will start airing in Japan on Oct 11, 2022.

This year’s New York Comic Con hosted a Chainsaw Man panel on Oct 7, 2022, with the English Dub cast of the anime in attendance. At this panel, a special video message from the anime’s director Ryu Nakayama was relayed to the fans.

Nakayama revealed an interesting piece of information concerning Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto and the anime adaptation in this message.

Fujimoto evidently gave the MAPPA staff working on Chainsaw Man anime complete freedom to approach the adaptation however they wanted.

“Fujimoto-sensei told us that we were free to approach the adaptation however we like, and expressed his support for what we were doing with the anime,” Nakayama said in his message.

However, the mangaka did supervise the project in a way that proved to be good for the outcome of the anime.

Thanks to the staff working on the anime, including Nakayama, being huge fans of Chainsaw Man manga, the director was of the opinion that they were able to produce a final product that could stand up to any anime out there. He also praised the quality of the main staff who were part of the team.

“Everyone on the Chainsaw Man team is a big fan of the manga, and the main staff is a real assembly of talented, proven individuals, which has resulted in an anime that can stand up to any other in terms of visual quality, passion and love,” Nakayama said in his message.

Being a long-time fan of Fujimoto’s works, Nakayama had eagerly waited for Chainsaw Man manga even before its release. And when he read it, he found it every bit entertaining as he had expected.

The director added that he has put in an incredible amount of passion into the anime adaptation and the staff too had given their all for it.

He ended his message hoping that fans would enjoy the Chainsaw Man anime and thanking everyone who came to visit the panel at NYCC.
