Hell’s Paradise panel in Stage NEO at Jump Festa 2023 revealed a new trailer and cast members for the upcoming anime on Dec 18, 2022. The trailer revealed that the anime will start airing in April 2023.

A new visual was also revealed to commemorate the announcement.

• Chiaki Kobayashi as Gabimaru

Comment:

I am Chiaki Kobayashi , who will be playing Gabimaru. When I read Jigokuraku for the first time, I strongly remember being instantly fascinated by the beauty amidst the chaos. Gabimaru, who I play, is a boy who has decided to live with a strong conviction in such a world. I will do my best to express him who lives with all his might, so please look forward to it.

• Yumiri Hanamori as Yamada Asaemon Sagiri

Comment:

My name is Hanamori, and I will be playing the role of Sagiri Yamada Asaemon. As the title “Jigokuraku” suggests, it is a story of two sides of the same coin, of conflicting things and events, and of understanding the unknown self in the process of understanding the other. A lost heart is the seed of strength.
With these words in mind, I will do my best to play the role. Thank you very much for your kind attention.

• Ryohei Kimura as Aza Chobei

This is a story about people who are both terrifying and beautiful and kill each other in a mysteriously beautiful land. I’m excited. I’m thrilled. Take it a step further and look at each character individually. If you know their way of life, you can sink deeper into the world of Jigokuraku. It is fun.

• Kensho Ono as Yamada Asaemon Toma

My name is Kensho Ono and I will be playing the role of Toma Yamada Asaemon. I have been reading “Jigokuraku” since it was first serialized, so I am very happy to be able to participate in this production! • Aoi Ichikawa as Yamada Asaemon Fuchi

My name is Aoi Ichikawa, and I will be playing the role of Yamada Asaemon Fuchi. I am very much looking forward to playing the role of Fuchi, who is a very unique character in the production. I will do my best to convey the charm of Fuchi to everyone.

Jigokuraku anime adaptation is produced by MAPPA and directed by Kaori Makita, with Akira Kindaichi writing the scripts, Koji Hisaki designing the characters, and Yoshiaki Dewa composing the music.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku. Set in the Edo period of Japan, it follows the ninja Gabimaru and the executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri as they search for the elixir of immortality.

It was serialized weekly for free on the Shonen Jump+ application and website from Jan 22, 2018, to Jan 25, 2021. The chapters were collected and published into 13 tankobon volumes by Shueisha. Viz Media has licensed the series for English release in North America.

MyAnimeList describes the plot of Jigokuraku as:

Gabimaru the Hollow, a ninja of Iwagakure Village known for being cold and emotionless, was set up by his fellow ninja and is now on death row. Tired of killing and betrayal, he wants to die. However, no method of execution works on him because as much as the seemingly apathetic Gabimaru refuses to admit it, he does have a reason to live. He wants to return to his wife, who was the reason why he softened up and failed to be an effective assassin. Thus, he refuses to die.

Asaemon the Decapitator, a famous executioner, sees this and has a proposal for the ninja. She wants Gabimaru to join an expedition to an island south of Japan in search of the elixir of life in exchange for a full pardon by the Shogunate. However, this island isn’t a normal island: it’s believed to be Paradise.

However the island is full of mysteries, and the exploring team—consisting of those marked for death—might not be fully prepared to handle them.
