Following the release of the final episode of Golden Kamuy season 4, the official website confirmed the adaptation of ‘final-arc’ of the anime on June 26, 2023.

A new visual for the ‘final-arc’ was revealed to commemorate the announcement.

Golden Kamuy season 4 premiered in Japan on Oct 3, 2022, and aired upto episode 6 before going on a 3 month hiatus due to the passing away of one of the staff members.

 The anime resumed broadcast from episode 1 on April 3, 2023.

Hitoshi Nanba from Geno Studio passed on his role as chief director to Shizutaka Sugahara from Brain’s Base, with Takumi Yamakawa taking over as Character designer for Golden Kamuy season 4.

The opening theme of the anime, “NEVER SAY GOODBYE feat. Mummy-D” is performed by Japanese hiphop/funk band ALI. While the ending theme, “Subete ga Soko ni Arimasu yo ni,” is performed by Japanese rock band THE SPELLBOUND.

Golden Kamuy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. It was serialized in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump from August 2014 to April 2022, with its chapters collected in thirty-one tankōbon volumes.

The story follows Saichi Sugimoto, a veteran of the early twentieth-century Russo-Japanese War, and his quest to find a huge fortune of gold of the Ainu people, helped by a young Ainu girl named Asirpa.

The Ainu language in the story is supervised by Hiroshi Nakagawa, an Ainu language linguist from Chiba University.

As of June 2022, Golden Kamuy had over 22 million copies in circulation, making it one of the best-selling manga series. The manga won the 9th Manga Taishō in 2016 and the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2018.

An anime television series adaptation produced by Geno Studio aired with two seasons from April to December 2018. A third season aired from October to December 2020.
