The official X account of GKIDS announced that they secured the North American theatrical distribution rights for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, a re-edited film version of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime series.
The film is slated to premiere in North American theaters on Feb 28, 2025.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is a brand new anime series in the Gundam franchise.
The series is co-produced by Studio Khara, famed for the Evangelion series, and Sunrise, the studio behind the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise.
Kazuya Tsurumaki, who served as an assistant director under Hideaki Anno for Evangelion, is directing the series.
Yoji Enokido (Sailor Moon, Neon Genesis Evangelion) will handle series composition, co-writing the screenplay with Anno. Mechanical designs will be handled by Ikuto Yamashita.

- Yui Ishikawa as Nyaan
- Shimba Tsuchiya as Shuji Ito
The story of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX revolves around illegal Mobile Suit dueling competitions known as “Clan Battles.” High school girl Amate Yuzuriha, who lives peacefully in a space colony, encounters Nyann, a girl who is a war refugee.
This meeting leads her to pilot the GQuuuuuuX and immerse herself in the world of “Clan Battles.” The mysterious Mobile Suit Gundam and its pilot, a boy named Shuji, have also been revealed as key elements of the story.
