The film division Plaion Pictures a subsidiary of Plaion Group, which in turn is owned by Embracer Group has acquired 100% shares of United Kingdom based Anime Limited.
It has acquired all rights to all the offices of Anime Limited which are located in Britain, USA and France.
The news was initially reported by Germany based Blickpunkt:Film. With this move, Plaion intends to be the key market player when it comes to marketing and distribution of Japanese anime and manga in Europe.
Stephen Kapelari, Managing Director, Plaion Pictures stated, “We are very pleased to welcome the Anime Ltd. team to our group. By joining forces, we will continue to expand our role as a key player in the marketing and distribution of Japanese pop art content. Together we aim to be a pan-European publisher who can offer our Japanese partners a 360-degree service from marketing to sales on all relevant channels.“
John Walter, Managing Director, Plaion Pictures, further added, “I am particularly pleased that with this move, our Plaion Pictures team is growing in the UK, and we now also have a location in France. With the support of Anime Ltd., we will also be expanding our SVOD -Continue to expand Channel Aniverse. Our entire anime team would like to extend a warm welcome to the new colleagues!“
