The official X account of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has confirmed the production of the anime’s second season with a teaser visual and an announcement video on Sep 28, 2024.
The second season will once again be produced by Madhouse.
Creators Yamada and Abe expressed their gratitude to the fans and the anime production team in a joint statement, saying, “The second season of the TV anime has been confirmed! This is all thanks to the support from everyone. We are deeply grateful to the anime production team for creating such a wonderful anime. As a viewer, we are excited to see Frieren’s journey continue. We look forward to your continued support for ‘Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.’”
Season 1 of the anime aired from September 2023 to March 2024, with Keiichiro Saito serving as the director, scripts supervised by Tomohiro Suzuki, and character designs handled by Reiko Nagasawa.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End started serializing in Shogakukan’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020, with its chapters collected in 13 tankobon volumes as of April 2024.
By June 2024, the manga had over 22 million copies in circulation.
The series is licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media and in Southeast Asia by Shogakukan Asia.
