Fortnite X Jujutsu Kaisen Collaboration Reveals Release Date & Trailer

Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen and Fortnite are in for a treat, as the official Twitter account of Fortnite announced the much awaited collaboration between the two franchises on Aug 1, 2023.

The collaboration will go live on Aug 8, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., along with Fortnite’s v25.30 update.

A new trailer for the collaboration was revealed to commemorate the big announcement. The trailer showcases 3D renditions of Jujutsu Kaisen characters, Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo, dramatically breaking through walls to make their grand entrance into the “Fortnite” universe.

Further details about the collaboration will be announced at a later date.

Fortnite is an online video game developed by Epic Games and released in 2017. It is available in three distinct game mode versions that otherwise share the same general gameplay and game engine: Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite: Save the World, and Fortnite Creative.

Fortnite Battle Royale in particular became an overwhelming success and a cultural phenomenon, drawing more than 125 million players in less than a year, earning hundreds of millions of dollars per month. Fortnite as a whole generated $9 billion in gross revenue up until December 2019.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. It is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since March 2018. The Jujutsu Kaisen chapters are collected and published by Shueisha, with 23 tankobon volumes released as of July 2023.

Season 1 of the anime adaptation by MAPPA aired from October 2020 to March 2021.

A movie adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiered in Japan in December 2021.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 started airing on July 6, 2023.
