Fans Can Now Create Anime, Commercials & Manga As Shonen Jump+ Launches World Maker App

To commemorate the app launch of the service, several contests will be held in collaboration with Netflix and Toho.

Upon the success of World Maker beta version, its official Twitter account announced on July 2, 2023, that Shonen Jump+ has launched an app version of the platform, encouraging users to unleash their storytelling skills and push their creative limits.

The newly launched app comes with a special upgrade as it allows users to create storyboards for anime, manga, movies, dramas, and commercials, and other video content. It also includes a feature that automatically translates created drafts and storyboards into 17 languages, including English, Chinese, Korean, and French.

A community feature also has been included, allowing users to follow authors and comment on their works.

Anyone can create anime, manga, movies, dramas, and commercials. Even if you can’t draw, simply by combining parts, you can easily and enjoyably create storyboards and manga drafts.”

Word Maker app will be available for download on Android and IOS devices.

To commemorate the launch of the service, several contests will be held, including the “World Maker Anime Storyboard Contest,” co-hosted by the Shonen Jump+ editorial department and Netflix, as well as the “World Maker Movie Storyboard Contest,” co-hosted by Toho.

Furthermore, a “World Maker Manga Storyboard Contest” will also be organized. Winners of these contests will be guaranteed a debut as original authors. The winner of the grand prize will have their manga illustrated by Taishi Tsutsui and released on Shonen Jump+.

The application for the contests will be accepted from Aug 1, 2023, to Oct 1, 2023. For further information on the contest, click on the link here.

The previously launched beta version only allowed users to help produce manga storyboards. However, the positive response and valuable input from the beta testers have undoubtedly contributed to the app’s enhanced functionality and smooth user experience in this official release.

This innovative platform was developed by Japanese developer Kayac Inc., and lauched by Shueisha along with Shonen Jump+ on August 2021.
