Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Film To Open In U.S. On August 19

A theatre poster at the AMC Neshaminy 24 theater in Bensalem, Pennsylvania located inside the Neshaminy Mall suggested that the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero Film will open in the United States on Aug 19, 2022. Crunchyroll or Toei have made no official announcement as of yet.

Last month, Crunchyroll and Toei Animation announced that the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie will release globally in theatres in both subbed and dubbed in the summer of 2022 tentatively in August.

The film will release in theaters in Japan on June 11 before its global release. A special “Fastest Screening” of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie will be held in 5 major cities in Japan, which will commence on June 10 at 00:00 (June 11).

The movie will get a stage greeting on the same day at Shinjuku Wald 9. Voice actors Masako Nozawa, Toshio Furukawa, Miyu Irino, Hiroshi Kamiya, Mamoru Miyano and director Tetsuro Kodama will be in attendance.

The official website also announced that the film will be screened in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema formats. The IMAX version of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie will release on June 11, with the 4DX and MX4D versions realising on June 25, and finally Dolby Cinema screens will start showing the film on July 1.

Sony Pictures India also hinted toward an Indian theatrical release of the movie.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, was scheduled to be released on April 22 in Japan and was slated to open in North America this summer, however, it was postponed due to the Toei Animation hack on March 6.

The fully 3DCG film is being directed by Tetsuro Kodama at Toei Animation, and Naoki Satō is composing the music. Nobuhito Sue is the art director, Chikashi Kubota is the animation director, and Jae Hoon Jung is the CG director.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the fourth film to be released for the Dragon Ball: Super series and will be the 21st overall in the entire Dragon Ball franchise.
