Donald Trump was injured in an assassination attempt at a rally on July 13, 2024. The shooting took place at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump was campaigning as the Republican presidential candidate.
Despite sustaining injuries, video footage captured Trump raising his fist in the air before being escorted away by security.
The Secret Service and Trump’s campaign later confirmed that the former president was safe.
Following the incident, social media erupted, where netizens compared Trump’s fist-pumping gesture to one struck by All Might after a victory over his arch-nemesis, All For One.
MHA‘s All Might wasn’t the only anime character that Trump got compared to. His fist-pumping gesture was said to be similar to that of Goku SSJ 3.
Other anime references included Zoro from One Piece, which portrayed the presidential candidates resilience in standing up even after getting shot.

The assailant, whose identity remains unknown, was confirmed dead at the scene. The incident is being officially investigated as an assassination attempt.
The attempted assassination occurred just months ahead of the U.S. election, which will be held on Nov 5, 2024.
