The official Twitter account of Disney+ Japan announced on Nov 30, 2022, that the upcoming Tokyo Revengers Christmas Showdown Arc anime will hit the streaming platform in January 2023.
The anime will be available to stream worldwide on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar.
This is a part of expanding the tie-ups between Disney+ and Kodansha, which was announced during the Asia-Pacific content showcase held in Singapore.

As a result of this partnership, all the anime produced by Kodansha will be distributed exclusively on the Disney+ streaming platform. Disney+ will also co-produce original anime with Kodansha.
“We are thrilled to deepen our strategic collaboration with our long standing partner Kodansha on such an exciting genre. Japanese anime fills the white space in our content development plans and we believe this expanded collaboration will be a game changer in Disney’s future animation strategy in Japan. We look forward to bringing the anime titles and prized IP by Kodansha to the world stage,” said Disney’s executive vp of original content strategy, Carol Choi.
Moreover, Disney had also revealed that the total viewing hours of Asian content on Disney + is eight times higher than a year ago.
Tokyo Revengers Christmas Showdown Arc anime (Tokyo Revengers season 2) is set to release in Japan in January 2023.
It was previously revealed that Ken Ryuguji aka Draken/Doraken of the series is getting a new voice actor. The previous voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki is getting replaced by Masaya Fukunishi. The art director Manabu Otsuzuki was also replaced with Rumi Matsumoto taking over the position for Tokyo Revengers season 2.
The rest of the cast and staff from the previous season will be reprising their roles for the upcoming season.
Newly announced voice cast for the anime includes:
- Mikako Komatsu as Yuzuha Shiba
- Tomokazu Sugita as Taiju Shiba

Tokyo Revengers is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since March 2017, with its chapters collected in 29 tankōbon volumes as of August 2022.
An anime television series adaptation produced by Liden Films, aired from April to September 2021. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japan in July 2021, with its sequel set to be released in 2023.
As of July 2022, the manga had over 65 million copies in circulation, including 7 million copies outside of Japan, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. In 2020, Tokyo Revengers won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the shonen category.
