Disney+ on their official Media and Distribution website announced on Oct 18, 2022, a list of new titles that will be joining the platform in the U.S. regions for November 2022, and listed among them was Tatami Time Machine Blues anime.
Tatami Time Machine Blues will release in the streaming platform on Nov 9, 2022.
The anime had also hit the Disney+ Hotstar platform in India on Sep 14, 2022.
The anime ran for 6 episodes, with episode 5 and 6 to release simultaneously on the same day, Oct 12, 2022. The sixth episode will be an anime only original and will only be streamed on Disney+.

Shingo Natsume (One-Punch Man, Space Dandy, Sonny Boy) is directing the anime at Science SARU, and Makoto Ueda returns as the scriptwriter from The Tatami Galaxy. Yūsuke Nakamura also returns as character designer.
The novel Tatami Time Machine Blues, sequel to The Tatami Galaxy, was published by KADOKAWA in July 2020 as a collaboration work between Morimi’s The Tatami Galaxy novel and Makoto Ueda’s Summertime Machine Blues stage play. It is a story about the characters of The Tatami Galaxy going back and forth in the world of Summertime Machine Blues.
Disney+ describes the plot of the anime as:
It is August 12th. After the remote control to his boarding house’s only air conditioning unit is inadvertently destroyed by spilled cola, “I” devises a plan to return to yesterday in a time machine to recover the remote before it breaks. However, his prankster friend Ozu cannot resist playing with past events, even if it means bringing the universe to the brink of destruction. Now “I” finds himself racing through time to avoid disaster.
