Speculation suggests that the upcoming merger between Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema may be influencing content decisions.
In 2023, the company removed over 105 titles from Hulu and Disney+ as part of a content purge, citing a strategic shift toward focusing on fewer, high-quality content offerings.
Additionally, in the same year, Disney+ Hotstar announced the removal of all HBO content.
