Cinema Today, an entertainment news site announced April 16, 2022, that Detective Conan: The Bride Of Halloween, franchise’s 25th feature film has topped the previous record-holding film (for total earnings) in the franchise, Detective Conan: Fist of Blue Sapphire on its first day.
The first day gross earnings of The Bride of Halloween was estimated to be about 523 million yen (4.13 million USD), 24% more than The Fist of Blue Sapphire, which released on April 19, 2019, and earned 422,465,000 yen (3.34 million USD) on 313,724 admissions on its first day.
Detective Conan: Fist of Blue Sapphire, the franchise’s 23rd movie had earned 9.37 billion yen (about US$86.2 million).
During the public commemorative stage greeting held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills on Apr 15, the panel stated that they “aim for the film to be the first in the franchise to earn 10 billion yen.”
Detective Conan: The Bride Of Halloween opened in Japan across 498 theatres on April 15, 2022.
The Bride of Halloween‘s staff includes Susumu Mitsunaka (Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File, Haikyu!! Movie 4: Battle of Concepts) as director, Takahiro Ohkura (Case Closed: The Crimson Love Letter) as scriptwriter, and Yuugo Kanno (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean) as music composer.
TMS Entertainment is the animation production company. Meanwhile, the cast includes Minami Takayama as Conan Edogawa, Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mouri, Rikiya Koyama as Kogoro Mouri, Tooru Furuya as Rei Furuya, and Mai Shiraishi as Yelenika.
