Crunchyroll, the global anime streaming giant, announced that it will be opening an anime dubbing production studio called Crunchyroll Production France.
The company will be located in the northern French city of Turcoyen. The development will help Crunchyroll to dub an episode in less than a week. This is due to the teams extensive experience of translating Japanese to French and voice production.
Crunchyroll has already dubbed over 1000 episodes of more than 70 anime titles in French. It includes anime like Kaguya-sama, Spy X Family etc.
In France, dubbed versions of TV shows and movies are widely popular. It is believed that one out of three people in France dubbed over subbed. Therefore, by providing a dubbed version, the company aims to increase the traffic on their platform. The dubbed version will respect the content of the original Japanese version and will pay special attention to the pronunciation of names and acting.
