Crunchyroll announced on Aug 11, 2023, that they will start streaming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc on the platform on Aug 13, 2023, at 10:30 p.m. IST.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc is the first part of the second season of the anime, and is an extended and recompiled version of the film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, that ran for a total of 7 episodes from Oct 10 to Nov 28, 2021.

The first episode of the part is an entirely new episode that focuses on what Kyojuro did immediately before the events of the film, while the remaining 6 episodes are recompiled cuts of the film with several slight edits performed on them to account for its episodic format.

Crunchyroll describes the plot of Demon Slayer as:

It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself.

Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.
