Crunchyroll announced on Sep 27, 2023, that they have lauched UPI payment method on their web for the purchase of their membership all across India.
Although, UPI payment option was initially only available only for Android and IOS users, signing up for membership has now been made easier for web users as well.
To sign up for a Crunchyroll membership via UPI, users can go to the Crunchyroll web checkout page and select UPI as a payment option. From there, an option will be provided to share their VPA ID (Virtual Payment Address) and complete the transaction on their mobile device.
This process will enable UPI Autopay, so fans can worry less about manually re-subscribing.
Users in India have 3 subscription options to choose from, they are:
- Fan: INR 79/month (1 device at a time)
- Mega Fan: INR 99/month and INR 999/year (4 devices at a time and offline viewing)
In the past year, Crunchyroll has catered the Indian anime community by taking several strategic initiatives, from reducing subscription fees and enabling local currency payments to offering Hindi and Tamil dubs for Indian audiences, attending India Comic Cons, and adding more library hours and series.
