Trigun Stargaze is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll on Saturday, Jan 10, 2026.

The sequel takes place two and a half years after the Lost JuLai tragedy, a catastrophic incident that destroyed an entire city and plunged the planet into chaos. With the hunt for Vash the Stampede still ongoing, the new series follows Meryl as she continues her search alongside a new partner,Q Milly, while crossing paths with Wolfwood. Meanwhile, Vash has gone into hiding under the name Eriks, only to be drawn back into conflict when he receives an urgent distress call from the third colony ship, prompting him to act to protect those closest to him. As the planet begins to cling to renewed hope from distant reaches of space, the return of the one-winged angel brings fresh devastation, setting the stage for a final collision of fates.

Both Trigun Stampede and Trigun Stargaze are based on Yasuhiro Nightow’s manga and are produced by Studio Orange, known for its CG animation work on titles such as BEASTARS and Leviathan.

Trigun Stampede was directed by Kenji Muto, while Trigun Stargaze is helmed by Masako Sato, whose previous credits include Haikyu!! To the Top. Scripts for both projects are based on concepts by Takehiko Oki, with concept art and character designs handled by Kouji Tajima, known for his work on GANTZ:0.

Crunchyroll describes the plot of Trigun Stampede as:

Vash the Stampede’s a joyful gunslinging pacifist, so why does he have a $$6 million bounty on his head? That’s what’s puzzling rookie reporter Meryl Stryfe and her jaded veteran partner when looking into the vigilante only to find someone who hates blood. But their investigation turns out to uncover something heinous—his evil twin brother, Millions Knives.
