The official Twitter account for Shueisha’s Jump J-Books revealed on Monday that Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga is getting a novel adaptation titled Chainsaw Man: Buddy Stories, this November. Sakaku Hishikawa will pen the franchise’s first novel which will ship in Japan on November 4.

The novel will tell three stories not told in the manga with a theme of “buddies,” featuring: self-proclaimed detective Power and her assistant Denji, Kishibe and Quanxi during their partner era, and Himeno and Aki around the time they first met.

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018. Part 1 (the ‘Public Safety’ arc) of the manga concluded on December 14, 2020, with its 97th chapter. The manga will continue with part 2, through Shonen Jump. As of now, we don’t know the release schedule for the continuation.

The manga has received a lot of buzzes, with over 9.3 million copies in circulation as of March 2021. In addition to this, it recently topped retail giant Barnes and Noble’s list of best-selling books. The anime adaptation for the series was also confirmed to be in the works by MAPPA, in December of 2020. The anime received a trailer at this year’s MAPPA Stage 2021, which you can view below.
