The official website of the upcoming BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- anime film announced on Aug 16, 2023, that it will hit the Japanese theatres in the spring of 2024.
The film is based on the spinoff manga, “BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi-,”by Kota Sannomiya. It focuses on the character Nagi Seishiro and portrays the battle within Blue Lock from his perspective.
A new trailer and key visual were revealed to commemorate the announcement.
The visual features Nagi Seishiro and Mikage Reio, both donning TEAM V bibs from the “Blue Lock” primary selection, along with the catchphrase “My life was filled with boredom until I met him“.
The film will feature returning staff and cast members.
Shunsuke Ishikawa will be directing the film at Eight Bit, with Taku Kishimoto in charge of script. Nomura will serve as the character designer, and Jun Murayama will be composing the music.
Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since August 2018, with its chapters collected in 25 tankobon volumes as of July 2023.
An anime television series adaptation produced by Eight Bit aired from October 2022 to March 2023.
A second season has been announced.
