Black Butler Season 4 Reveals New Visual & Plot

Aniplex Online Fest 2023, which took place on Sep 10, 2023, revealed a new key visual for the upcoming fourth season of Black Butler anime, along with a teaser introducing the characters.

The visual features  P4 of Weston College.

The new season of the anime is titled Black Butler: Public School Arc (Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen).

Aniplex describes the plot of the series as:

Butler Sebastian Michaelis works with his 13-year-old master, the earl Ciel Phantomhive, to do the dirty work of “the Queen’s guard dog” in nineteenth century England’s gritty underworld.

One day, Ciel receives a letter from Queen Victoria telling him that several students at Weston College, one of England’s top public schools, have seemingly disappeared… including a relative of hers named Derrick. And so, Sebastian and Ciel infiltrate Weston College to get to the bottom of the matter. What truly happened to these students?

Black Butler: Public School Arc will release in 2024.

Daisuke Ono and Maaya Sakamoto will be reprising their roles to voice Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive respectively.

Black Butler is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yana Toboso. It has been serialized in Square Enix’s shonen manga magazine Monthly GFantasy since September 2006.

A 24-episode anime television series adaptation, produced by A-1 Pictures, aired from October 2008 to March 2009. A second 12-episode season aired from July to September 2010; this season featured a butler, Claude Faustus, and his master, Alois Trancy, as well as Sebastian and Ciel and has an anime-original storyline which does not feature manga content.

A third season, titled Black Butler: Book of Circus, was broadcast between July and September 2014.

A two-part theatrical original video animation (OVA), titled Black Butler: Book of Murder, screened in Japanese theaters in October and November 2014. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japan in January 2014. An animated film, titled Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic, premiered in Japan in January 2017.
