Bastard!! Anime Unveils New Visual, Plot & Ending Theme

The first episode is titled "The Arrival".

The official website for the upcoming Netflix anime BASTARD!!-Dark Destruction God- revealed a new visual on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, accompanied by the plot of the anime and the ending theme release.

The first episode of the BASTARD!! anime is titled “The Arrival” and Netflix describes the plot of the series as:

400 years since the fall of modern civilization. The world is riddled with chaos and ruled by swords and magic. The Kingdom of Meta-llicana is under attack by the Dark Rebel Armies and their Four Divine Kings, and Tia Noto Yoko, the daughter of the Grand Priest, must make a fateful decision to save the kingdom. Should she resurrect Dark Schneider, the ancient grand wizard who once sought world domination?!

Tielle will perform the anime’s ending theme song “Blessless,” based on heavy rock and metal music, which gives a strong message of “Fight and stand with your own will!”. The digital single will be out on June 24.

BASTARD!! previously announced that the first 13 episodes of the series will start streaming worldwide from June 30, 2022.

The cast members are Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Lars, Ari Ozawa as Sean Ari, Shizuka Itoh as Kai Harn, and Takehito Koyasu as Di-amon joins the cast with Kisho Taniyama as protagonist Dark Schneider, Tomori Kusunoki as Tia Noto Yoko, Hiroki Yasumoto as Gara, and Yoko Hikasa as Arshes Nei.

Bastard!!: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara. It began its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1988, and has continued irregularly in Ultra Jump since 2000, with its latest chapter released in 2010.

Twenty-seven collected tankōbon volumes have been released as of 2012. The manga was formerly licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media; only the first nineteen volumes were released.

The manga was adapted into a six-episode original video animation (OVA) series by AIC, released from 1992 to 1993. The OVA was released in North America by Pioneer in 1998.

Bastard!! is one of Shueisha’s best-selling manga series of all time, with over 30 million copies sold by 2008.
