The anime adaptation of Kentaro Yabuki’s Ayakashi Triangle manga started streaming on Crunchyroll from Jan 9, 2023. However, fans who were looking forward to enjoying all the ecchi stuff from the series had their dreams dashed, as the streaming giant released a censored version of the anime.
The first episode of the anime consisted a decent amount of skin-show. However, most of it was was cut out in the version that aired on Crunchyroll.
Fans were visibly not satisfied and voiced their displeasure online, with many of them saying that they might flock to illegal streaming means and anime piracy websites in order to catch a glimpse of the fun they were missing out.
“And here we go again to the pirate sites to see without censorship. It’s a shame to pay for a service as an adult and not get the full experience. I actually don’t know why we should report our age when creating an account if it doesn’t matter at all,” one fan wrote.
Others were of the opinion that they would wait for the uncensored version of Ayakashi Triangle to release, and praised the adaptation.
For some fans, it was not just the censorship, but the manner in which the content was censored that irked them even more. While most of them were expecting ‘holy light’ to cover up the nudity, the presence of ‘jpegs’ did not go down well.
However, a lot of fans instead of outright blaming Crunchyroll, blamed their licensing methods via which they acquired a censored version of the anime.
Ayakashi Triangle manga too was embroiled in a censorship debacle, and it had to transfer to Shueisha’s digital publication service, Shonen Jump Plus, so that the author could ‘finally make stories that would have been difficult to tell in the past due to circumstances’.
The anime adaptation of Ayakashi Triangle is directed by Noriaki Akitaya at connect, with Kei Umabiki serving as the assistant director. Shogo Yasukawa and Hideki Furukawa is in charge of screenplay and character design respectively. The music is being composed by Rei Ishizuka.

1 thought on “Ayakashi Triangle Anime Gets Censored On Crunchyroll, Fans Voice Discontent”
It didn’t get censored ‘on crunchyroll’.
It got censored everywhere until the blueray release.
The sensational title seems to be purposely misleading to imply crunchyroll is responsible for censoring it. Their only option (and everybody else’s only option) is to either show the censored version or not show it at all.
